Position Summary

The Veterinary Production Analyst is a key member of the DVM Contracts Team, responsible for accurately calculating and maintaining production-based compensation for veterinarians across the organization. This role ensures that each veterinarian’s compensation aligns with their individual contract terms, working closely with Finance, Payroll, and Field Operations to ensure seamless execution of compensation structures and pay.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Production-Based Compensation Calculations:
    • Calculate individual veterinarian production compensation based on contract terms, including revenue splits, guaranteed base pay, bonuses, and other incentives.
    • Ensure accurate application of contractual provisions, such as tiered percentages, deductions, and adjustments.
    • Reconcile monthly production reports, identifying and correcting discrepancies before payroll processing.
  • Contract Compliance & Audit:
    • Review and interpret individual DVM contracts to apply appropriate compensation structures.
    • Conduct regular audits of production calculations to ensure alignment with contractual agreements.
    • Identify and investigate inconsistencies in production or payment reports and resolve them with Field Operations and Payroll.
  • Collaboration with Key Teams:
    • Finance Team: Provide compensation and production data for financial reporting and forecasting.
    • Payroll Team: Ensure accurate and timely processing of production-based pay.
    • Field Operations Team: Support clinic managers and regional leaders with insights into production compensation trends.
  • Process Improvement & Compliance:
    • Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline production compensation calculations and reporting.
    • Ensure compliance with internal policies and legal regulations regarding compensation practices.
    • Assist in system upgrades or transitions that impact production tracking and financial reporting.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Respond to veterinarian inquiries regarding production calculations and payments.
    • Perform additional duties and projects assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Education & Experience:
    • Associate degree or 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, compensation calculations, or veterinary/hospital provider pay structures; bachelor's degree preferred
    • Experience interpreting employment contracts, particularly production-based compensation models.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, financial modeling).
    • Experience with veterinary practice management software (e.g., Cornerstone, AVImark, eVet) and financial tracking systems.
    • Ability to analyze large datasets and identify trends, discrepancies, and optimization opportunities.
  • Communication & Problem-Solving Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial calculations.
    • Ability to communicate complex compensation structures to veterinarians, field teams, and leadership.
    • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Physical Requirements

  • Remain in a seated position at least 75% of the time.
  • Ability to communicate via email, phone, and video conferencing.
  • Ability to utilize a computer, keyboard, and mouse when working.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 40 lbs.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $70,000-75,000 per year
