We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Business Development Intern to join the Business Development team at a leading veterinary clinic consolidator. This internship will offer valuable experience, where you will spend 75% of your time performing data mining and data entry tasks, supporting the team through the expansion of a prospect database. The remaining 25% of your time will focus on learning the fundamentals of EBITDA-based business valuations, helping you understand key financial metrics and the different approaches to deal structuring. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to develop a strong foundation in finance while working in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.

• Perform data mining and data entry tasks to gather and organize data to support outbound prospecting efforts
• Learn and assist with the preparation and analysis of EBITDA-based business valuations
• Collaborate with analysts to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights

• Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

• Ability to understand basic Profit and Loss Statements, Tax Returns, and other financial documents
• Must be highly motivated self-starter with ability to take initiative
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must maintain strict confidentiality with regard to financial information
• Critical thinking skills

• 4 days/week travel into the downtown Chicago office (M-Th)
• Frequent keyboarding/use of computer for data entry
• Occasionally moves equipment and supplies weighing up to 15 pounds

• Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office, especially Excel formulas and multi-tab workbooks
• Financial acumen
