Position Summary

The Veterinary Recruiting Events Specialist supports our Talent Acquisition team by driving our recruiting efforts at industry events and conferences. With a focus on attending veterinary conferences, coordinating recruiting events, and building an external pipeline, this role is responsible for sourcing and engaging qualified veterinary professionals for clinical positions to promote Blue River PetCare as the employer of choice. Ultimately, the responsibilities of this role ensure our company connects with and recruits the best veterinary talent to support our growth and success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Event Attendance and Representation: Attend veterinary conferences, career fairs, and other industry events to actively promote our organization and its career opportunities.
  • Event Planning and Coordination: Work with our internal events team to coordinate and execute recruitment events, ensuring that logistics are smooth and engaging for attendees.
  • Lead Follow-Up: Collect, organize, and follow up with potential candidates met at events, ensuring a timely and personable follow-up process.
  • Candidate Sourcing and Engagement: Source and qualify leads gathered from conferences and events, introducing strong candidates to the internal recruiting team for further assessment.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, and professional organizations to strengthen our network and pipeline of potential candidates.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintains appropriate records, candidate database, and communication history
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in recruiting, or event planning, ideally within the veterinary or healthcare sectors.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to build rapport with candidates and industry professionals.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills, with the ability to manage multiple events and leads concurrently.
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently (60-70% of the time) to attend conferences and recruiting events across the country.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent keyboarding and communicating via call and text
  • May occasionally move equipment and supplies up to 20 pounds

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), Salesforce experience a plus
