Position Summary

The Marketing Specialist (Regional) is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of strategic marketing initiatives across the organization, with a primary focus on providing local-level field marketing support to Blue River PetCare hospitals. Reporting directly to the Field Marketing Manager, this position requires an experienced individual with strong communication, marketing, and creative skills, as well as an exceptional ability to adapt to the ever-changing marketing landscape and develop news skills as needed.

 

This position is best suited for a self-driven individual who is passionate about all things marketing and looks forward to working as part of a small, collaborative team. Previous experience working as part of a corporate support team, providing local-level marketing support to locations within a specific region is preferred. Veterinary experience is not required, but preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a brand steward for entities across Blue River PetCare
  • Provide full-service field marketing support for hospitals located within assigned region
  • Collaborate with hospital leaders, regional operations team, vendors, and BRP colleagues to implement marketing strategies at local hospital level
  • Provide graphic design support for hospital creative projects; develop marketing materials (brochures, social media graphics, business cards, etc.)
  • Develop social media strategies and manage local content calendars for assigned hospitals
  • Conduct research to understand local markets, consumer behavior, competition, opportunities, and trends
  • Manage rebrand, brand revision projects, digital ads, and marketing budgets for assigned hospitals
  • Coordinate local events, trade shows, and promotional activities to enhance brand visibility and engagement
  • Generate written/creative content for local and enterprise-level initiatives
  • Monitor performance of local marketing initiatives, make data-driven adjustments optimizing results and shaping future marketing strategy
  • Implement and manage enterprise-wide integrated marketing campaigns
  • Maintain best practices of marketing techniques and tools
  • Manage marketing projects, prioritize tasks, meet project deadlines, and communicate project data to stakeholders
  • Seek new opportunities to strengthen brand awareness and build industry-related relationships
  • Serve as a resource for hospital leaders and corporate team members seeking marketing-related guidance, ensuring marketing and communication needs are addressed
  • Act as company representative at industry events

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred; or 5+ years of relevant work experience.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field; or 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in marketing role focused on regional or local marketing strategies
  • Minimum three years of professional marketing experience required (internships do not serve as substitute for this requirement)
  • Strong graphic design, writing/editing, and creative skills
  • Ability to provide a portfolio of previous creative work
  • Veterinary industry experience or ability to develop strong knowledge of the industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, prioritization, organization, and project management skills
  • Flexibility/drive to meet tight deadlines, prioritize multiple projects
  • Ability to collaborate with people at all levels of organization
  • Highly professional, strong work ethic, and self-directed
  • Willingness to travel within designated region as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Remain in seated position at least 75% of the time
  • Ability to navigate around the office to access file cabinets, supplies, office machinery, etc
  • Ability to communicate with others via in-person verbal communication, as well as frequent emails and phone calls. Must be able to exchange clear, accurate information in these situations.
  • Ability to utilize a computer, keyboard, and mouse when working
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs
  • Ability to travel domestically via plane and motor vehicle

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Graphic design skills, Adobe CC and Canva experience
  • Experience managing business social media pages
  • Working knowledge of common marketing, analytics, and project management (Monday, Basecamp) tools
  • Exceptional writing, composition, grammar, and spelling skills
  • Excellent verbal communication, time management, and organizational skills
